About Kath and Tony Mazzella
After her surgery Kath discovered how little women knew and talked about conditions “down there”, and how many women were suffering in silence. This empowered Kath to go on a journey … a journey that Tony had no choice initially but to go on with her. Now he has stepped up to stand beside her and promote this very worthwhile and necessary message, extending it beyond just the women, but also to the men that surround their worlds. After all, when one woman suffers, all those in her world suffer with her.
After placing an advertisement in a women’ s magazine, Kath was able to connect with others who had similar experiences, even taking Tony on a plane ride to the US, and this drove her to establish the Gynaecological Awareness Information Network Inc. (GAIN) which has informed and supported thousands of women.
ADVOCATES
Kath and Tony together are powerful advocates for women challenged by gynaecological, sexual and related mental health conditions, personally inspiring women (and a few men also), arguing for institutional and social change that delivers better awareness, prevention, treatment and support.

LATEST CAMPAIGN
Their latest campaign, Undies for Better Understanding or U.B.U. as it is now known, is focused around the theme of undies and presents an exciting opportunity to create better awareness and open up the conversation. Together they host a workshop, people decorate undies or undies biscuits and during the workshop they hear Kath and Tony’s inspiring story and allow time for open dialogue on the subjects of Gynaecological, Sexual and related Mental Health.
The response to these workshops from the public has been enormously encouraging with private sector, government agencies and community groups very keen to host repeat events because they can see the effectiveness of the strategy. Fun, engaging, creating better awareness, many have commented, “I didn’t know this information”.
Kath and Tony’s passion runs a mile deep and they are determined to take their message further abroad in 2015 and beyond.
