King Edward Memorial Hospital meeting
Maternal and Family Health Nurses Australia presentation April 2015
One of the largest audiences I have addressed recently, I received a great response at the Burswood Convention Centre.
The program included a broad of range of professionals and it was great to share my message, woman to woman.
CWA Toodyay – a Wonderful Surprise
Four men attended my presentation alongside 50 ladies from the community. I just love to see the men attend these forums. We had a great time at the CWA Toodyay sponsored by Cervical Cancer Prevention and Cancer Council WA.
King Edward Memorial Hospital IGAD Underpants Design Competition – Sept 2014
Kath Mazzella OAM has joined forces with King Edward Memorial Hospital and GAIN Inc to celebrate the International GYN Awareness Day with an in-house underpants design competition for staff as was celebrated in 2013.
On display at the hospital will be the three Undies for Better Understanding quilts created by Perth Modern Quilters and Willetton Quilters. It is fantastic to see the community get involved like this.

Community Gynaecological Health Awareness Consultation

This meeting was a great success, with many health leaders showing interest in how they can support the International GYN Awareness Day.
I am so excited about how things are progressing. At the meeting there was a 100% agreement that this day is very necessary and a commitment to support local events over the coming years.
Thanks to everyone who attended. Your support is very much appreciated.
Outcomes from the meeting:

100% support from those gathered.
-
Judith Parker agreed in principal to taking IGAD to the United Nations for approval as an International Day.
-

Advised to approach Govt Ministers for funding for all the projects over 3 years.
-
Agreement that the name stay the same.

Interest in the concept of our workshops having booths for info sharing.
-
Graeme Boardley publicity declared his full support for our project and a commitment to support the project that goes forward.
-
Painted a bigger picture for the group so they can see where IGAD is headed and decide if it is in the same direction as they or their group represented want to head.
